浜面 (hamazura: beach, seashore) beach + surface
You probably know 面 from 面白 (omoshiro(i): interesting, face + white), where it has the kun-yomi of omo.
We also see 面 with the on-yomi of MEN in 面接 (mensetsu: interview, to meet face to face + to meet) and 面倒 (mendō: trouble, difficulty). I won’t break down this last compound, as it seems to be a case of ateji). The same on-yomi of MEN shows up in this great word:
面食い (menkui: emphasizing good looks (in choosing a mate)) face + to eat

But what about 浜面 (hamazura: beach, seashore), with 面 as zura? It’s a trick question! This zura is actually a voiced form of the kun-yomi tsura. And that tsura yomi shows up in this word, among others:
面憎 (tsuraniku(i): disgusting, offensive) face + hateful
The breakdown means that when you utterly dislike someone, you hate even having to see his face, let alone having to talk to him.
