Sample Sentences with 成果

成果 (seika: results, fruits)     to become + fruit

その成功は君の努力の成果だ。
Sono seikō wa kimi no doryoku no seika da.
The success resulted from your efforts.

Interesting how close seikō (success) and seika (results) are in sound and meaning!

成功 (seikō: success)     to achieve + result
(kimi: you)
努力 (doryoku: efforts)     to exert + power

努力したが何の成果も得られなかった。
Doryoku shita ga nan no seika mo erarenakatta.
My efforts produced no results.

Doryoku pops up again and again in sentences about metaphorical fruit.

努力 (doryoku: efforts)     to exert + power
(nan: nothing)
(e(ru): to gain)

小さな親切大きな成果。
Chiisana shinsetsu ōkina seika.
A little kindness goes a long way.

When modifying a noun, the adjective 小さい (chiisai) can be either 小さい or 小さな (chiisana), but 小さな has a slightly softer, cuter touch. The same goes for 大きい (ōkii) versus 大きな (ōkina).

(chii(sai): little)
親切 (shinsetsu: kindness)
     friendly + fitting closely
(ō(kii): big)
