Could you please help me with translation of this sentence?

Postby tofushimi » January 30th, 2009 8:32 pm

Hi, guys, can you help with translation please. My girlfriend was chatting with a japanese guy in english and he wrote her this, thinking she wont understand:
どうでしたか
わかってるじゃないですか!
じかんがかかりますね
So, she asked me to translate (she knows Im learning japanese), mine translation is "you are here again. wont you let me be. it takes too much time (chat I guess)".
Can you help me out? Was my translation right? Im actually a beginner

He asks her how something was (possibly her), asks (largely rhetorically) if she doesn't understand, then comments that she's taking a long time (presumably to reply).
Context may reveal different meaning.

You know it! <-- (not quite sure on this)
That will take time.

I think mhykx's translation of the 2nd sentence is closer - it's more like "you do know it, don't you!", like they're a bit surprised that he/she knew... well, whatever it was they knew
