I just wanted to share an observation I've made and find out if its just me or if any of you have similair experiences. What I have noticied is that women that learn Japanese are very often redheads. Given the skin tone and skin pigments are fairly unique for redheads you can tell there are natural, but even if its a dye job it's still interesting I think. My evidence is,
1. Teacher I knew in high school
2. First female non-japanese in the NHK video series
3. 2 girls on youtube
4. girl in Brad Pitt 503 jeans ad
5. girl in Japanese class
In fact, i've never seen a non-redhead caucasian women who can speak fluent Japanese. I don't know that many obviously, but the facts don't lie. Weird right?
if the condition is that it has to be a caucasion girl... then i don't know any.. but if it's any girl who isn't japanese... well then i'd say i know at least three who aren't japanese, speaks fluent japanese, but ain't red-heads.
all natural black hair actually. and one's a korean. heh.
ahhh!! now i know how jasonさん looks like! =) it's nice to be able to put a face to these names.
