Can't open any pdfs

Hi, I just started my trial, and everything looks great, except that I can't open any of the pdf documents. I get an error message saying that the document is either not a supported file type of has been damaged. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Download Adobe Reader and you will be able to read the PDFs.
