Survival Phrases: Ueno Zoo

I have no idea if it has been done before, because there is now so many lessons that I haven't lissen to all of them.

Well, I would like a Survival Phrases about going to the Ueno Zoo (or any other Zoo).

Of course, you can survive in Japan without this, but it would be nice to have a small lesson about it: you could introduce a lot of vocabulary about animals in there (elephant, giraf, monkey and son on).

I think it's usefull for our japanese knowledge to know how these animals are named...

Well, it's just an idea anyway. Keep the good work. :wink:

Animal names I know have been covered before but I am pretty sure it was a Beginner lesson.

There were also a couple of culture classes dealing with animal names and their significance in Japanese folklore.

Ah, ok, I'm not there yet... :roll:

I remeber a JCC about superstition where they talked about spider and snake, but it's a little bit short...

Well, it's just that I like the zoo anyway. And he could be some fun directions, like: "Take right after the lion's cage, go straight to the elephant, and it's near the bear's pit". :lol:

But I agree, wouldn't be a very serious survival phrases. :lol:

I have been to the Ueno Zoo.

Well, it's a Zoo. If you don't like animals... :lol:

No, but I mean, it's inside Ueno Park. Wich tourist is going in Tokyo but not going to the Ueno Park?

I think the problem with zoos, and especially Japanese zoos, comes from people who *do* like animals.

No, but I mean, it's inside Ueno Park. Wich tourist is going in Tokyo but not going to the Ueno Park?

I went to Ueno... I don't know what the big deal is. It's just a park. One with quite a few homeless people wandering around it. But then again, I guess that's what parks are for.

That's true of most (all?) Japanese parks.

Probably... In Ueno park, there is also some nice museums...

I've heard that. Unfortunately, I was rushed for time when I was in Tokyo, so I didn't get to them.
