Informal speaking?

Postby The Frankensteiner » April 28th, 2006 12:18 pm

I recently got myself a few Japanese penpals and one of them laughed at me because my Japanese was way too formal. :(

I used "Okage sama de Genki desu" which was one of your "Wow!" words. But she just thought it sounded funny.

Haha, of well I don't mind. She's going to try to help me out with speaking more casually.
But in the meantime, would it be possible when teaching certain lessons to give us an example of the same conversation except informally? Like it would be spoken between friends?

Isn't that what the informal tracks are for?

In my opinion, the informal tracks could be more like the regular lessons. I think they at least could tell the listener about the difference.

There's informal tracks? Where do we find these?

Maybe I haven't got that far in the lessons yet. Apologies!
I didn't know it had been addressed.

They're in with the beginner's lessons. They're informal versions of the conversations in the lessons. They don't seem to be up for the most recent lessons, but if you go down the Home page a little, you'll see "Informal Audio" listed on most of them.
