My first introduction and some questions.

Postby Jordandyckes9512 » May 26th, 2012 9:02 pm

こんにちわ

はじめました
わたしわJordanです
よろしくおねがいします

おげんきですか

Is there any mistakes in my introduction?

May I also ask, is the following correct?

わたしわてりびのすき (I like my Television)
あぶないとてもあつい (Dangerous, Very Hot)
わたしわさむいです (I'm cold)
そののはら (That field)

It's the first sentence's I put together on my own,
from words I picked up over time.

Lastly could anyone clear up what (いけ) means? as the official UK
Japanese Profiency book states the meaning as 'pond' but I thought hold
on a minute and grabbed out an old copy of 'Dance Dance Revolution' and
it goes 'いけ! いけ!' surely not meaning 'pond! pond!

さよなら

Jordan.

こんにちは、でぉーだんさん。
はい、わたしはげんきです。おげんきですか。

That's pretty good; just a few corrections. You've got the right sound「わ」but the sentence topic marker is actually「は」(even though the pronunciation is「わ」!) So (and I'll add some punctuation too)...

こんにちは。

はじめまして、
わたしはJordanです。
よろしくおねがいします。

And...

わたしは、てれびがすきです。
あぶない、とてもあついです。Formally I think this would be とてもあつくて、あぶないです。
わたしは、さむいです。
そのはら、The possesive「の」is already part of 「あの」,「その」&「この」so not needed again.

I don't know Dance Dance Revolution but I'll guess it's the imperative form of the verb いく "to go" rather than the noun いけ "pond". i.e. Go! Go!
This is where the kanji really help, the characters are completely different so there's no confusion; 「池」"pond",「行け」imperative form of「行く」"to go". I'm guessing you haven't really learnt verbs yet, let alone things like imperative forms, so I wouldn't worry too much about that.

Hope that makes sense.

おはようございます、エリック。

ありがとう、for the corrections.

I hope to visit Japan someday in the near future, so plenty of practice for me to do.

きたいとーくもうやがて。(I hope to talk again soon)
