Creating my own sentences

Postby Jake_Lucas » May 25th, 2008 10:26 am

Unfortunatly i do not know very many kanji atm, and i may have a hard time reading any replies completely in Japanese, but i have started to delve into the realms of trying to make my own sentences.

I have only listened to the nihongo dojo newbie seasons so far, and havent even finished the second series style you and beyond, but i read through my text book and look at resources on the internet and think i am comfortable with particle basics now.

So i want to try and make my own sentences most of which i won't be sure on.

I like listening to music
私は音楽を聞いてが好きです (Still not to sure about the -te forms yet)

I have a cat (Really not sure on this one)
私はなこがいます

the book is on the bed
本がベッドの上にあります

i was/wasn't/am not/am in the shower
私がシャワーの中にいました
私がシャワーの中にいませんでした
私がシャワーの中にいません
私がシャワーの中にいます

I hope that i got all of those right, they are only simple for now but atm im not too confident in my own sentences :lol:

Thankyou very much for your reply hatch_jpさん
This makes much more sense to me now.

The only thing i don't understand is かって in 私はねこをかっています , i just don't know what it means.

I understand now that I would use
私がシャワーをあびた。
for i was in the shower, as in i was bathing in the shower.
But if i just wanted to say that i was somewhere, for example i was in my house (Not specifically doing anything, i was just there) then would that be the time to use something like.
私が 私のうちの中にいました。
Or do i have the wrong idea?

again, thankyou for your reply, things are making more sense to me now :)

ねこをかう = feed/keep a cat
かう = 飼う in kanji

I was in the shower (room) = わたしは風呂場(ふろば)にいた
If you just want to say "be ~", you can say "~にいた"
~ should be a noun of place. シャワー is not a noun of place.

I was at home. = 私は家(いえ)にいた。

こんにちは、

わたしもかんじはとってもむずかしいとおもいます。ひらがなとかたかなだけforumがほしいです。あなたのにほんごがじょうずです。かんじがないからです!

じゃ、また。
