Question about wo(o)!

Postby Aki_no_Kage » December 23rd, 2014 7:15 pm

Konnichiwa!

Is を used interchangeably for both the wo and o sounds? And can を be used in place of お ?

Thanks very much!!

Aki_no_Kage さん、
Konnichiwa.
Unfortunately their functions are totally different each other even though they have the same sond ‘o’.
をis a particle, object marker so when you say ‘I read a book’, you have to say ‘ほん を よみます’.
お is not independent and part of a word for example, おに which means daemon.
Therefore, it’s not used interchangeably.
