i like those slice-of-life anime best, they make me laugh and yet are touching at the same time. i'm watching k-on 2 at the moment. others i like are :

ranma (the one that made me fall in love with anime)
azumanga daioh (absolutely kawaii characters)
ouran host club
honey and clover 1 & 2
nodame cantabile (made me love classical music)
cowboy bebop
monster (nail-biting episodes)
zetsubo sensei (love the play on their names, especially if you know kanji well)
inuyasha
peacemaker kurogane

I have forgotten a fair few i think but put in writing that already seems like alot and thats only the ones i liked and can remember. If you want to learn how people speak then Jdrama is the best way to go me thinks. all the accents in anime seem slightly too put on for me.

I only have manga and anime that's been licensed in America, although I have seen some fansubbed anime when I was still in college and attended the university's anime club.

I have more manga than anime, mostly because manga is cheaper, and I have alot of manga, but my favorite series right now which actually is being collected by my sister is D. Gray-man by Katsura Hoshino. I also like Tactics by Sakura Kinoshita and Kazuko Higashiyama. It's 10:30 P.M. where I am right now so I don't really feel like catalouging every series I own at this time, but those are the two I would say I like best right now.

電波的な彼女 (denpateki na kanojo)
Lucky Star
苺ましまろ (Strawberry Marshmellow)
Lovely Complex
お願いティーチャー (Onegai Teacher)
Hellsing Ultimate
星の声 (Voice(s) of a/the Star(s), strangely dubbed Voice of a Distant Star in the english version)
And for this one there's no anime yet, but here's me rooting for it: 未来日記.
Mirai Nikki (Future Diary) would be awesome as an anime. Absolutely delicious.

kurojaki: nope. I've never seen Basilisk, but I do dislike Naruto and Bleach quite a bit.

「伝説」の勇者の伝説ではないですか?
"Densetsu" no Yuusha no Densetsu de wa nai desu ka?
Isn't it "Densetsu" no Yuusha no Densetsu?

I've never actually heard of the series myself, but I've never seen an S followed by a T in Japanese before, and I actually know Densetsu to mean "Legend(ary)" :)

Full Metal Panic (all of them!)
Initial D (the music is awesome, it makes you wanna drift!)
Ouran Host Club (is so funny)
Fruits Basket (I love it its cute)
Trinity Blood
Vampire Knight
BLEACH
Nodame Cantabile
Card Captor Sakura (IS MY GUILTY PLEASURE)
Ruroni Kenshin
Saiunkoku Monogatari
Durarara!
Darker than Black.
Fushigi Yuugi

I can't really say that I like the longer anime like Gintama/Naruto and the like, I mean, I do like them, but since they are not done, I can't really say, I included Bleach on my list 'coz that one I do love :) One example would be: Inuyasha, I did love it, but the ending was BLAH so it got bumped form my 'faves' list :)
