Dave, thanks for letting us know - we understand it can be tough when the accent sounds different from what you expect. You can adjust the audio speed by clicking the dark gray "1x" button next to the volume control icon. Slowing the audio a bit and repeating short phrases can make understanding easier. Also try shadowing (repeat right after the speaker) to train your ear for different accents.

Hello Violet! 😊
I'm glad you found the lesson helpful! As for your note, "こんにちは" (Konnichiwa) is often used to mean "good afternoon" in Japanese, but it can also be used as a general greeting like "hi" or "hello." It’s quite versatile!
If you have any more questions or need further clarification, feel free to ask. Keep up the great work with your studies!

Hello,
I found a very interesting book while studying and submitting some assessments. It was titled '2000 Japanese Core Words & Phrases'. It appeared to be a hefty book of about 300 pages. I would like help finding it again since I forgot to save it before I closed my browser. It is different from the 2000 core vocabulary list.
Hi Mary,
Thank you for your question.
Words that can't be found in our dictionary or lessons can't be added to the Word Bank.

How does one enter a word to the word bank that does not originate on this website?
