Japanese to use with babies/infants

Postby kellysensei » March 11th, 2010 12:35 am

I'm six months pregnant and would like to speak Japanese with my son when he is born. Besides the obvious fact that I should use informal Japanese, is there any "baby talk" Japanese to know? I'm also curious about baby-related words/phrases in general, like "rattle," "high chair," and "can you change his diaper, please?"

I listen to both the lower and upper intermediate serious but would appreciate a baby-themed lesson at any level.

Thanks!

I think this is a great idea for some lessons. I am biased though, my wife and I are expecting as well. If I may add to the suggestion, it would be great to learn some vocab for talking about pregnancy, birth, and babies in general.

Thank you.
