thanks for that. I prefer more guitar orientated stuff over electronic based music. I really enjoyed White Surf Style 5. I have just been doing some research. I think it's on Futurama. Would that be a good place to start?

I think Futurama is the best place to start. I'd say it's like the midpoint of their transition from guitar to electronica. If you like guitar stuff, maybe you'll like their first album, Three Out Change. In many ways it's similar to Miki's solo albums. And Highvision is also really good, though probably a bit more electronic. I think a lot of it was used on the soundtrack of Ping Pong. But honestly, if you like her solo stuff, I think you will like something on all of Supercar's albums.

I just had a quick listen online. I think I might give Three Out Change a go first.
thanks Taurus.

I quite like Kiss Shite Hoshii, too. And, not by the Blue Hearts, this.

I've been a Hamasaki Ayumi fan for about 6 years now~
she's an amazing artist! crowned the queen of jpop. This year also marks her 10th anniversary. My favourite Ayu songs are:

MY ALL
Who...
A Song for XX
walking proud
Memorial Address
Depend on You
LIFE

Utada Hikaru, Otsuka Ai, and Koda Kumi are also really good.

I would definatley recommened Miyavi for any visual kei lovers out there. His music is just amazing and he doesnt stick to one genre. just give him a try, i'm sure someone will find an interest in him. another is GazettE. they have realy good music too but are more on the metal side. both are amazing japanese artists.

For some reason, I just can't find very much Japanese music that interests me. I've seen the Polysics live a couple of times and even though they're great live, I can't really listen to their records. The Boredoms are a bit too noisy for me, but OOIOO has a couple of songs that I like. Boris' Pink album was great, but I'm not that into their other stuff. Shugo Tokumaru is pretty good, but it puts me to sleep sometimes. The Michelle Gun Elephant and Cornelius are good from what I've heard. I just haven't heard very much. I also really like Nagisa Ni Te, even though they're a little fond of writing very long songs. Anyone care to make some recommendations to me based on these random statements?

Here's some links to a few songs that I do really dig:

The Blue Hearts - Train Train

L'Arc En Ciel - Driver's High

Happy End - Kaze wo Atsumete
