Japanese numbers from 11 to 19. In this lesson, you are going to master Japanese numbers from 11 to 19. Let’s get started by reviewing the numbers from 1 to 10. (Ichi, i, chi, ichi.) に。 (Ni.) (San, sa, n, san.) (Yon, yo, n, yon.) (Go.) (Roku, ro, ku, roku.) (Shichi, shi, chi, shichi.) or なな、な、な、なな。 (Nana, na, na, nana.) (Hachi, ha, chi, hachi.) (Kyū, kyu, u, kyū.) (jū, ju, u, jū.) Okay now let’s take a look at how to combine these numbers. To say 11, you say 10 1. 10 is じゅう。 (jū.) 1 is いち。 (ichi.) . (jū ichi.) (jū, ichi.) (jū ichi.) . Okay next, to say 12, 10 is じゅう。 (jū.) 2 is に。 (jū ni.) (jū, ni.) (jū ni.) So 13 would be じゅう、さん。 (jū, san.) (jū san.) 14 would be じゅう、よん。 (jū, yon.) (jū yon.) 15 would be じゅう、ご。 (jū, go.) (jū go.) 16 would be じゅう、ろく。 (jū, roku.) (jū roku.) 17 would be じゅう、なな。 (jū, nana.) (jū nana.) 18 would be じゅう、はち。 (jū, hachi.) (jū hachi.) 19 would be じゅう、く。 (jū, ku.) (jū, kyū.) (jū kyū.) . Okay let’s practice. I will say the numbers and give you time to repeat each one. Ready? (jū ichi, jū ichi. jū ni, jū ni.) (jū san, jū san. jū yon, jū yon.) (jū go, jū go.) (jū roku, jū roku.) (jū nana, jū nana.) (jū hachi, jū hachi.) (jū kyū, jū kyū.) Also you can say (jū shi.) for 14 and じゅうしち。 (jū shichi.) for 17 and じゅうく。 (jū ku.) for 19. So you must have noticed the pattern and the Japanese numbers are getting easier right? In the next lesson, you are going to master Japanese numbers from 20 to 100. (jā ne.) |

HideHey everyone!
Before, you learned numbers 1-10, and now it's numbers 11-19! Numbers in Japanese are not that hard once you learn the patterns :)

When I took the quiz, the first 3 times it was buggy on my I-pad. I would press the button and the mark appeared on the next question, not the one I pressed. Then it wouldn’t respond. On my 4th attempt it worked.

That's a good question! I agree with you that they look very similar, so you have to figure out from the context😉
Please let us know if you have any questions :)
