Your kanji skills are developing nicely and this lesson will be a centi for you.
It’s time to learn the kanji meaning 1, 2, and 3.
Okay let’s draw today’s kanji. Today we have three kanjis, 1, 2, 3.
And the meanings for these kanjis are 1, 2, and 3, and we are going to have a trick for memorizing this kanji in just a minute but let’s first look at the reading.
And remember, there are two readings in kanji? One is 音読み (on'yomi) the On reading and the other one is 訓読み (kun'yomi) The Kun reading. Long story short, the On reading comes from Chinese and the Kun reading comes from Japanese.
Okay let’s first look at the On readings for 1, 2, 3. 1, いち (ichi). 2, に (ni). 3, さん (san) .
Now let’s look at Kun readings for 1, 2, 3. 1, ひと (hito) ひと (hito) is in ひとつ (hitotsu). 2, ふた (futa) ふた (futa) is in ふたつ (futatsu). 3, み (mi) み (mi) is in みっつ (mittsu) .

It’s pretty simple. There is one line, so it’s 1. Add another line here, so it’s 2. Add another line, so it’s 3. Pretty simple right?
Now let’s learn how to draw this kanji. Pay attention to the stroke order, it’s very important. First we have 1, 1, next we have 2, 1, 2. Next we have 3, 1, 2, 3. Let’s try it again. 1, we have 2. 1, 2. Next we have 3, 1, 2, 3.
