It has some N5-level grammar points and words, but it's meant more for N4๐Ÿ‘

For N5, you can use this one!

Hi Yanling,

Thank you for the comment!

ๆฎ‹ใ™๏ผˆใฎใ“ใ™๏ผ‰ in ใฎใ“ใ—ใพใ—ใ‚‡ใ† is a verb that means "leave", "carry down" and so on. A direct translation would be "We are going to/Let's leave it".

Hi,

From the dialogue:

ใ€Œใ‚ใ€ใ„ใˆใ€ๅคใ„ใฎใฏใ€ใพใ ไฝฟใˆใพใ™ใ‹ใ‚‰ใ€ใฎใ“ใ—ใพใ—ใ‚‡ใ†ใ€‚ใ€

= "But the old one still works. We're going to keep using it."

I would like to know what "ใฎใ“ใ—ใพใ—ใ‚‡ใ†" means. It doesn't seem to directly translate into the sentence above so I am confused.

Hi Sarah,

Thank you for the comment!

Yes, that's right! The literal translation should be the one you suggested?

"่ฟ‘ใใชใ„ๆ–นใŒใ„ใ„" means "It is better if something isn't close (to other thing)".

Hello, the literal translation for I think it should go on the other side of the room is 'the new and the old, be better if they aren't close'. How did you get this English translation? thanks

Hi Jean-Roger Orsini,

Thank you for the comment!

In this case, "๏ฝžใฎใฏโ€ could be a short form of "๏ฝžใ‚‚ใฎใฏ"ใ€€instead.

For example, "ๅคใ„ใฎใฏโ€ which means "old one(printer)" in this video could be replaced "ๅคใ„ใ‚‚ใฎใฏ".

Let me show you another example;

A: ใ‚ใŸใ— ใฎ ใใ‚‹ใพ ใฏ ใ‚ใ‹ใ„ ใงใ™ใ€‚ใ€€Watashi no kuruma wa akai desu.ใ€€(= My car is red.)

B: ใ‚ใŸใ— ใฎ ใฏ ใใ‚ใ„ ใงใ™ใ€‚Watashi no wa kuroi desu. (=Mine is black.)

As for "๏ฝžใซใฏ", a particle "ใซ" in this case follows location/place.

When you use "๏ฝžใซใฏ", that indicates you comapres some places/locations.

They are talking some places in this room, so "๏ฝžใซใฏ" is used.

Hope this helps you:smile:

Hello,

This is my first comment on JapanesePod101.

I'd like to know if you could redirect me to one of your grammar points regarding ใฎใฏ and ใซใฏ used in this lesson, that I quite don't understand. Or at least if you could explain it to me...

Thank you very much for being here and for your amazing content!

Thank you for your feedback.

I fixed the typo on the romaji, so that please have a look at it.

As for ~nakereba ikemasen and ~nakereba narimasen, their meaning are almost the same.

However, narimasen sounds more like a written expression, and ikemasen is used more on speaking.

Beginner series Season 2 Lesson 52 "Permission to Marry Your Daughter 2" covers this pattern '~nakereba ikenai/naranai.'

https://www.japanesepod101.com/2007/11/27/beginner-lesson-s2-52-permission-to-marry-your-daughter-2/

Hope this helps,

ใญใ‡๏ผใ‚ใ‚ŠใŒใจใ†ใ”ใ–ใ„ใพใ—ใŸ๏ผ

Hey! Thank you so much for this lesson๏ผ

ใ™ใฟใพใ›ใ‚“ใ€ๅคฑ็คผ่ฉฑใ›ใ‘ใฉใ€ใƒญใƒผใƒžๅญ—ใงใ€Œ้ƒจๅฑ‹ใ€ใฎ็ฌฌไบŒใฎๆ–‡ใฏ้–“้•ใ„ใŒใ‚ใ‚Šใพใ™ใ€‚

There is a mistake in the second sentence in romaji of the ~room~ part๏ผŒI`m sorry.

Both audio and kana show ใ€ŒไปŠๅคœ้ƒจๅฑ‹ใ‚’ๆŽƒ้™คใ—ใชใ‘ใ‚Œใฐใ„ใ‘ใพใ›ใ‚“ใ€‚ใ€ใ€€but the romaji says ใ€Œnarimasenใ€ instead of ใ€Œikemasenใ€.

Also I`m wondering what are the differences between these two sentences in using narimasen or ikemasen.

Thank you so much!
