こんにちは gerard,

We are sorry to hear that. But don't feel anxious about difficulties. By revisiting these sentences regularly, you will understand more and more of them. Personally what I always advise to people learning foreign languages is to write the difficult words and phrases down to a sheet of paper, try to pronounce them, record their own voices while reading them aloud, and repeat the words and phrases regularly: 1 hour, 2 hours, 6 hours, 1 day, 2 days, 4 days later. After encountering the words and phrases so many times, it will stick in your mind forever. 😉

Kind regards,

レヴェンテ (Levente)

Hi everyone!

Thank you very much for leaving a comment and letting us know your favorite family member word!

For those of you who asked a question, please see below.

@ Attilio,

Is 姉 meaning generically a sister or specifically an older sister?

Japanese clearly separate younger/older sisters. 姉(あね) is an older sister and 妹(いもうと)is a younger sister.

Sister-in-law are:

Wife of your older sibling = 義理の姉(ぎりのあね)

Wife of your younger sibling = 義理の妹(ぎりの妹)

Sincerely,

Miki H
