Japanese Literature

Postby Franktankwu_505093 » March 24th, 2015 2:07 am

Hello everyone.
I was wondering if you would start a literature section on Japanesepod101.com.
"Tale of Genji" is the only literature I've heard about, and I don't even know what it is about. I would love it if we could cover such classic Japanese literary works like novels or poems, or other such artistic endevours.
Each week, a narrator would read a passage in the book or poem, and then we can discuss how it influenced Japanese culture.

Frankさん、はじめまして。面白いアイデアだと思います。英語でゲンジの物語を読んでいました。凄いですよ。ほかのへいあん時代から本を読みたいんです。

Hi Frank, I think that's an interesting idea. I've read the Tale of Genji (in English) - its amazing. I'd like to read other Heian era books.
