What kind of food japanese people eat everyday, I say in normal life... We the mexicans cannot live whithout the "chile" and the "tortillas" So what is most common in Japan? Rice? Ramen? What? :shock:

ありがとうございます!

Note: I didn't find the translation for Chile and Tortillas I hope you can see them in the Internet... :shock:

Without a doubt, the winner of this goes to rice. While surely noodles, miso and stuff are other staple foods, nothing says Japan quite like sticky white rice.

トルティーヤ = torutiiya = tortilla
唐辛子 = tougarashi = chili pepper

As much as I like Chili peppers, I'm ashamed not to have known the Japanese word up until now. :oops:

Rice indeed. Noodles probably a close second...

Always a handful of new onigiri flavors each season to prove the point. My favorite flavors lately are 'Meat Doria' onigiri and 'Salmon Pepper'. But the two classic flavors I can never turn down are probably 'ume' (plum) and 'sake' (salmon).

And Sashimi! to add to your list already.

Rice is the biggest one. In fact before all these foreign foods like italian cusine and such, You could expect to have Rice at every single last meal!

breakfast, lunch, Dinner, (Snacks! Too. Rice balls and Dango, Mochi stuff like that)

cooked rice is Gohan 御飯
the same as meal!!!!!
asa*gohan =breakfast
hiru*gohan =lunch
ban*gohan =dinner (other ways to say too)
