I'd be interested to know in what order people here have been completing stuff, and which were your favourite or most recommended seasons, and how people approach the audio lessons.

I've gone like this:
All About (Intro: Audio)
Basic Japanese (AB: Video)
Absolute Beginner S1 (AB: Audio)
Absolute Beginner S2 (AB: Audio)
Lower Beginner (Beginner: Audio)

All About was entertaining and interesting. Basic Japanese, which was a series of video lessons with Hiroko, was very enjoyable and easy.

I felt I learned a lot during the Absolute Beginner and Lower Beginner lessons. I always listen to the audio track, then look at the pdf and copy down the dialogue (in kanji/kana) and vocabulary. I also use the pdf reader to look at any lines in Japanese (for example, the Japanese Sample Sentences) while hiding the English translation, and see if I can read them. Then I return to the web page and do the quizzes. I don't usually write anything in the comments because that feels like too much mental effort :) Then I usually add some of the lesson words to my flashcards and do flashcards. Then I do "words of the day" (which I get via email).

I don't feel like I'm making fast progress though. It took me 4 months to get through the 25 lessons of Lower Beginner!! I definitely need to pick up the pace a little!

Oh, and I have a tip for anyone doing video lessons. If the video seems poor definition, try it in a different browser. For some reason, I can only get a clear picture on the videos here using Internet Explorer (my usual brower is Chrome).
