Where is Peter Galante from anyway?

I have been wondering for a long time where Peter is from because he has a really strange accent (if you can call it that)... so I was just wondering if anyone could help me out. Sorry if this has already been posted... I looked but couldn't find anything. Thanks in advance!

That's what he has said in the podcasts. (Easier to find in the early EP101 lessons)

Sounds just like a NY accent to me.
