Problem with Flashcards

Postby khaledcomm3659 » August 30th, 2013 10:47 am

Hello,

I'm new in JapanesePod101. I have problem in showing my flashcards. The page keeps on loading (White square in the middle of the screen) and nothing more.

Any advice?

Thanks in advance

It should work if you try again later.

I find that the flashcards get very slow at around 07:00UCT, which is 08:00 in the UK, 16:00 in Tokyo, 01:00 in Dallas (I think the server is in Dallas). Maybe they run a backup around that time?

It usually lasts around 15 or 20 minutes and then everything is fine again.

Try using a different browser. If the flashcards work in a different browser, then the problem is probably caching or cookies and you will need to empty the cache and delete the cookies in Firefox.

I've had a similar problem with flashcards loading - sometimes fine, others not. I did wonder if was related to the size of the decks. (and this has only been a problem in the past couple of weeks, before then it was fine)

Hmmm, I got around my initial problem by studying individual decks rather than the "study all" option.

Today I get a blank when launching a session (two different browsers). On a different computer I get an error message as follows:

An uncaught error was raised: "You are using a ServerProxy but have not supplied it with a url." Use Firebug or Webkit console for additional details.

Not sure if that helps.

I'm getting something similar. I've tried running multiple decks on both Chrome on Windows and Safari on my iPad. I can see the decks and the initial "Study" screen listing the number of cards and their status works. But when I actually click on Start Session, the first card never shows up and all I see is this. The actual first card never shows up.

Same - even just tried Firefox and it downloaded the latest version of flash before stopping.

I think that a number of cards have disappeared. I've emailed support, so just waiting for them to get back.

Hopefully everything will be back online soon

幸せな笑顔

Happy smile - thank you for working on a fix as it looks like it's running again. I find flash-cards have been very useful this year and have spent around an hour a day on them (maybe I'm a slow learner). It will be interesting to see how much I use an increased vocab next month as I am back holidaying in Japan :)
