No Flash support on Nexus 7 tablet

Postby Ryokushin » July 27th, 2012 2:52 am

Hi, I just bought Google's new tablet Nexus 7 and it is impossible to use flash with it. So its impossible for me to listen to the dialogs and reviews. Im really REALLY disappointed because the main reason why I have bought this tablet was to study on japanesepod101.com!

Do you have any plans to use html 5 or other instead of flash?

Thank you for your time.

I bought InDesign for Japanese, and at one point Adobe screwed up and I was told to re-install all Adobe products to fix a licensing issue... {Resolution, backed-up a file, re-ran adobe, replaced file from backup.}

You bought the Nexus 7 Tablet to run JapanesePod101 on it. That's great!

So why don't you actually load Flash onto the Tablet, and use it for that ?!

I bought an Adobe product, and it fails almost monthly. Their support doesn't help either. Yet, are you going to give up, and leave it at that ?

Yes, I bought the Nexus 7 to study with japanesepod101, because I like it better than studying sitting in front of the computer. Personally, I don't have any problem with Adobe products, I use them on a daily basis (photoshop, dreamweaver, ect).

The problem that I have is that Android do not support flash anymore. There is a way to make it work, but by hacking it, which I don't want to do. Anyway, flash is a dying technology as it becomes less and less relevant.

I really hope that the developers at japanesepod101 will switch to html 5 for audio. More and more people surf the web using a tablet or a phone, its important not to forget this part of the market.

Hi,

I'm Jae from JapanesePod101.com

We're currently working on developing our mobile-friendly page, which doesn't have any flash videos. We believe we can introduce the page soon.

Meanwhile, please check the My feed menu, which you can download MP3 files that you need for listening on your phone. You can find the function under the 'My Tools.'

If you have any questions or suggestions, please let us know anytime.

Thank you,

Jae / JapanesePod101.com

Hi Jae, thank you for your reply.

Using "my tools" is not really convenient for me. You mentioned you will introduce the new mobile friendly pages "soon", when can we expect it? Is it a matter of days? Months? Year?

Thanks

Hi

Thanks for your understanding.

The Mobile-friendly page is on the test stage, so I believe it will be in a month, or two. Thank you for your patience in advance.
