A good dictionary for Iphone

Postby leopoldopagotto » April 1st, 2012 10:08 pm

Dear colleagues,
I am writing to know whether I can profit from your experience. I am a huge fan of Japanesepod101.com and I bought lots of stuff from the site, including the dictionary Genko.
A friend of mine, who is learning Chinese, showed me an amazing app: he simply writes the character on the screen and shortly after, the meaning, pronounciation, stronke order etc appear. Do you know whether there is anything similar for Japanese? This seems to be a great tool to learn Japanese.

Hi there leopoldopagotto,

First of all, thanks so much for your positive feedback on the site! :)
As to your question, I did some searching and found this site: http://www.zonjineko.com/2816-review-my ... hone-apps/, which has detailed reviews of what the writer considers to be the best five kanji apps out there. The kanji lookup function you're asking about seems to be featured on the app called simply "Kanji" - "Search for kanji by entering a meaning or drawing the kanji".

Hope this helps!
