myfeed on itunes constantly asking for password

Postby naturaldev » January 16th, 2011 1:55 pm

Hi Jpod101 - just signed up for a premium account and started downloading some archived material via myfeed on itunes, however it asks me for my password every 3 or 4 items despite clicking the button to remember. With potentially around 8000 downloads to get through this is a massively annoying problem. Can you suggest any solution?

(tried searching the forum but nothing came up)

Thanks

You're not alone

Sorry it's not a solution, just a "me too" post. It took me FOREVER to download everything. Do hope you can find a solution so you don't have to go through what I did.

Same here. It's been that way for ages, regardless of what version of iTunes I'm on. I've tried resetting things and tinkering with the cache, etc.
...A little help? ...Somebody?

Use another podcast catcher to download them. ( Try "Juice" ). You can always add them to your iTunes library later. Another advantage of this is you will not have to worry about iTunes truncating the title names.

I'm having the same problem, but I don't want to change the podcast catcher just yet.
Is the administration going to help us? お願いします!

I would like to know if someone in the administration has, at least, read this topic.
How much time are we going to stay without an answer?

hi,

i just tested a MyFeed and only had to give the user/pass once. Everything downloaded.

iTunes 10.2.1 on Mac.

Can someone who still has this problem paste the myfeed url so i can test? Also , what iTunes version and OS was used.

Thank you

I am having the same issue of having to re-enter my password every few minutes when trying to download the premium feeds.

I am using:

iTunes 10.2.1.1 (64bit)
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

This is the feed URL for premium users: itpc://www.japanesepod101.com/premium_feed/feed.xml

Does anyone know of a different program to download all the episodes? I tried a few others (like Juice) but I could not figure out how to download all the episodes (only would download latest episode) without having to click manually to download each episode.

Juice will download all outstanding episodes if you select the button with the blue downpointing arrow " Check / download selected feed "

hi guys, I'm having the same issue

Postby fdoerksen4613 » May 17th, 2011 3:09 am

I've had this issue ever since joining as a "Premium" member. I've tried multiple podcatchers, including Juice, and nothing works.
Tried:
Windows XP, 32-bit, iTunes 8.11, 8.21, 9.0, 10, 10.21, 10.22 (currently still testing, still getting the password prompt every 2 seconds).
Windows XP/32-bit, Juice almost sort of seems to work but silently refuses to download most of the feed; looks like the PDF notes don't get downloaded, same as iTunes.
Linux, Ubuntu 64-bit, gPodder (constant 401 errors, authentication required), Liferea, and a few not worth mentioning. Nothing works. All either refuse to download (with 401 errors) or give the password prompt constantly. Also installed iTunes 10.2.2 via Playonlinux and it's acting the same as WinXP+iTunes.

It's probably not a software problem. I've tried other peoples' computers, many different permutations of podcatchers, iTunes version, Windows versions etc. and it's NOT working.

I emailed support a couple days ago about it. Last time I contacted support (email) it took about a week to get a response so I'm not holding out a lot of hope to get this fixed. Meantime if anybody has a helpful suggestion I'm willing to try it.

I'm also a member of Spanishpod101.com and that Premium feed doesn't have any problems.

Here's a screenshot of gPodder, since you already know what it looks like on iTunes. The forum won't let me embed it properly or make a live link.
