Polite Gestures

Postby sphynx » April 19th, 2008 11:27 pm

Hey there!

Just to begin with, you're doing an excellent job Japanese Pod! You rock my socks! ^-^

My brother has been telling me that there are certain hand gestures which we use in the Western world which are considered improper in Asian countries, like when you beckon someone to 'come here' your hand should be positioned so that your fingers point to the ground. Also I've read that when you introduce someone you should use "sochira" so as to avoid pointing towards the person as its more polite. Would it be possible to do a video on polite and impolite gestures?

Also, I have a question: is there any way to quickly find audio blogs which have the two-minute vocab lessons and have them all in one place? I think they're an excellent idea but I've only been able to find the one in audio blog 66 from the link in the email newsletter D=

Thanks again JP!
