KILL BILL

Postby nick019 » June 2nd, 2006 8:54 pm

Could you also please talk about some KILL BILL phrases!? I would like to know if they are proper translations, and how they are said, as no matter where I look, I cannot find it! If I look in a script, it comes up with the meaning and the word Japanese in parentheses! :(
This would be 'Super Cool' if you could do that! :D :)

I have the japanese copy of the movie so I could look it up. I don't think they will do a lesson about it.

[EDIT]
There were only japanese subtitles when they spoke english but I tried to write down what they said :P It is maybe not completly accurat but someone could try to fix it, because I've written the english translation as well.

Starting from "any more subordinates for me to kill?"

The Bride: 殺してほしい手下は これだけ?
Gogo: ハイ~!
The Bride: ゴゴだね?
Gogo: ビンゴ そっちはブラック・マンバ
The Bride: 噂が一人歩きしてるみたいだね
Gogo: そうだな
The Bride: ボスを守る義務があるのがよくわかってる でも、お願い… どいて
Gogo: フフフ、お願い事のつもり? もっとマシな頼み方ないの?

From memory from the Japanese dub, but that should be it. The Bride's last line might be a little different.

Yeah, your kana still needs a little work.

The Bride: Koroshite hoshii teshita wa, koredake?
Gogo: Hai~!
The Bride: Gogo da ne?
Gogo: Bingo. Socchi wa Burakku Manba.
The Bride: Uwasa ga hitori-aruki shiteru mitai da ne.
Gogo: Sou da na.
The Bride: Bosu wo mamoru gimu ga aru no ga yoku wakatteru. Demo, onegai... Doite.
Gogo: Fufufu, onegaigoto no tsumori? Motto mashi-na tanomi hou nai no?

Some of it doesn't seem right. For example, I'm 99.9% sure that "mashi" should be "maji".

Gogo's Line...

Postby stonemirror » September 8th, 2008 3:18 pm

I know I'm coming into this late, but the kanji posted about for Gogo Yubari's line, お願い事のつもり? もっとマシな頼み方ないの?, are mostly correct (although there's a kanji for "mashi-na", i.e. "better"). Some of the romaji transliterations are off, though. The line is

Onegai-koto no tsumori? Motto mashina tanomi kata nai no? (More or less literally, this seems to amount to, "Did you mean to ask for something? Isn't there an even better way of asking?")
