Non-flash card method for learning/studying kanji

Postby kichigaijin » December 30th, 2014 8:01 am

I know this may be a little bit of a finicky request, but most flash card implementations just don't do much for me. It would be nice to have some kanji learning options that were a bit more interactive than "do you know this kanji?" As appears in most flash card programs. I was thinking quizzes based around reading the character, maybe quiz questions based on some pattern recognition for drawn kanji - like on tablets & smartphones (such as from the old Nintendo DS game "Tadashii Kanji Kakitori-kun,") or maybe even just the ability to trace kanji in squares (on tablets & smartphones) for the "kanji close up." Adding some of these features to the flash card system would go a long way towards actually encouraging me to use the word banks. As a kid, flash cards were never a solo affair, there was always some sort of quizzing involved. Thanks.
