How much exactly is this woman popular in Japan? She wrote a novel based on the game Ico, which had been supposed to be pretty untranslatable into other media. Also, I hear that the novel (Ico: kiri no shiro) is pretty good as well. Did anyone read it?

In spite of being totally bogged down with study materials, vocabulary and grammar, I find myself really wanting to get my hands on a copy of this. For the reference:

There aren't too many people around here tackling full length novels, but as one of the many who was both swept away by the game's minimalist presentation, and totally weirded out by the shady inklings of a storyline, I'm most curious to find out more.
