Rare Cheese?

Postby arancarlisle » May 2nd, 2006 10:08 pm

I noticed a few desserts in Japan were given a flavor which was romanized as "rare cheese". Does anyone have some insight as to what "rare cheese" is?

In general it seemed almost like it was analogous to "cheese-cake" flavor, but I'd like to hear an answer from someone who actually knows.

In Japan, the cheesecakes baked in the oven are called "baked cheesecakes" and those that are made with gelatin and put inside a fridge are called "rare cheesecakes." So "rare cheese" flavor refers to "rare cheesecake" flavor (the taste of cream cheese and lemon). Sometimes "baked cheesecakes" are further divided into " souffle cheesecakes" (the very light ones using meringue to rise) and "baked cheesecakes" (the dense ones). :P Yummy.

So Sakura, is it going to take a "rare cheesecake" to get you back into the studio?? If so, just let me know and I'll go buy one now! :D
Whether or not I present it to you, well, I still haven't decided.
