Convenient Hotels?

Postby danachan » March 1st, 2008 7:03 pm

Hello!
I am going to be in Japan April 15-28. I fly into Osaka and want to stay a night or two in Osaka but I want to be in a part of Osaka that isn't so far from Kyoto (by a train station). The reasonable hotels are by the airport but it is like an hour and 40 min. train ride to Kyoto. Does anyone have any tips on where to stay? There will be 2 of us going.

Thanks!

You might also want to check the Riva Nankai in Shinsaibashi.

In Kyoto, I always stay at the Kyoto Garden Hotel (double room a few days before Christmas cost me 6000yen/night... they were having a special)

toyoko inn and superhotel are 2 good, budget chains.

Otherwise, if you feel like searching in japanese... just type ホテル予約 into a search engine and you'll find lots of pages of options.

Kansai Airport Washington Hotel 220 for 2 nights. Next train station from Kansai.
Train Fare $3.50, 5 minutes. Get off at Kinku Town Eki, Go out exit 3, and the Hotel is 300 feet away. Has a Convenience store in hotel (open 24/7)

OsakaJo Castle Hotel, nean Shin-Osaka Eki (I think) A little more expensive, but the room we got was a suite! Awesome view of the river too!!!
