増え方の意味は？

So I know that adding 方 to the ます stem of a verb means method or way of.
For example 食べ方 means method or way of eating.
However does 増え方 also mean rate of increase?

Reason why I'm asking is because I saw this

Basically verb stem + kata means ‘how to do’ however, in terms of exponentially, I think　the site is correct.
