I am a beginner Japanese student learning by self-study. I'd like to be able to say what my occupation is, but unfortunately it doesn't align with any of the common occupations that show up in vocabulary lists. I am a product assistant at a publishing company, which is basically "assistant product manager" (the next level up would be "associate product manager" then "product manager").
I've found from searching online that 主査 (shusa) is often used to mean "product manager", and 副 (fuku) is assistant. Would I just combine those two (主査 副) to say "assistant product manager"?
Alternatively, before my company started working on digital products as well as print, product managers were known as "acquisitions editor" and I would have been "editorial assistant" or "assistant acquisitions editor". I've found that in the US at least, most people are more familiar with that job title than product manager, so if there is a Japanese term for the old title, I'd love to know that as well.
