Japanese wedding wishes questions

Postby summersprite » August 26th, 2009 6:36 am

My host sister told me in an email that she's about to get married next month. I wanna write a reply and include a wedding wish such as "I hope you will have a very happy life together". So besides ご結婚おめでとうございます are there other wedding wishes you can say in Japanese?

Also, is someone else's fiance ご婚約者 in Japanese?

You could try something like As for the ご婚約者, I really don't know. It couldn't hurt? I know that people use フィアンセ as well.

They are the phrases my Japanese friends used after I got married.
They might be more suitable for after marriage than before. I'm not sure.

Wow, I didn't even think about whether this could be said before or after the wedding... I wouldn't want them to think I jinxed them or something.

Try something like this-あなたの人生のこの新しい旅ですべての成功と幸福を願います。
