Two sentences- same meaning?

Are both of these sentences grammatically correct, and is there a difference in their meaning??

私は彼に耐えられない。
私は彼に我慢できない。

Both are correct and the same meaning.

I went and asked a friend. Both correct, same meaning, same nuance in this instance (which you'd probably pick up if you looked up taeru in a kokugo dictionary). She sounded like she preferred taeru to gaman though, saying people don't really say gaman, so then I gave her examples of gaman and she took it back. fin
