mook

What does "mook" mean?

I've seen this word written in Roman letters, and it seems to mean something in Japanese - I think it's related to travel. Is it always written in Roman letters? Or do Japanese also write it in kana?

mook is a hybrid magazine-book. It's used to describe publications that can be as hefty as books and are bound like books, but still have the layout, text flourishes, photographs and whatnot of magazines.
