Desu ne vs Deshou

Postby Difeiwang2769 » February 15th, 2012 8:25 pm

From what I've heard, they both mean "isn't it?"

What's the difference between them?

I'm just a beginner so you shouldn't necessarily trust my opinion, but I think the difference is to do with how certain you are about what you're saying. As I understand it, deshou implies "probably" while desu ne doesn't. So you'd say ii tenki desu ne but not ii tenki deshou.
