Orthodontist Recommendations

Postby jkid » July 29th, 2008 3:58 am

Has anyone had any experience with getting orthodontic work done in Japan? I've heard some bad things about dental hygiene in Japan and am a bit apprehensive about getting work done. I would really appropriate any recommendations so I don't end up at a place with little English spoken and no gloves being worn.

I've been looking around myself and found the Japan Orthodontic Center:

They seem to specialise in orthodontic work but ultimately I am really apprehensive.

My orthodontic treatment is nearly complete. I would just need it to be "finished up". I am not even sure if Japanese Orthodontists are willing to complete others work.

Any recommendations would be greatly appropriated.

You don't say where you are based. If Tokyo and you have Japanese domestic health insurance then it is cheaper for you but harder to find English speakers.

I recomend Royal.

If you have insurance then there are other places.

Be warned - with domestic insurance dental work is still not cheap here!

Sorry - should have looked at your link! You are in Tokyo so you have obviously already used Google 先生 - I use royal but not for orthodontic as foruntately I do not need. Kaku is also popular with foreigners - they are in Hiroo and Yoyogi Uehara
