Children's programmes in Japanese online

Postby gryffindor » February 22nd, 2008 1:19 am

hi guys,

Do you know of anywhere where I can get japanese children's programmes? For example, Sesame street kind of thingey. I figure it would be helpful to our listening and reading ability to watch something easy and fun.

I've been watching doraemon, it comes up on Google video, but it's still a lot harder to understand than Sesame Street I'd say. I wish I could find them in order, because the anime follows the manga almost exactly, so it'd be a great way to learn them word for word.

There's also シャキーン!

I've watched a couple of the episodes that are on Youtube.

There's pitakora suicchi which has the best title sequences ever and the wonderful algorithm dance.
Usually you only see the title sequences online and NHK only had DVDs of the the titles when I looked for them in Japan.

BUT someone has posted some episodes at Stage6

http://www.stage6.com/videos/tag:pythagoras

Fairly simple. Fan-subbed it seems.

That's great, it's really easy to pick out words you don't know. The dance is a good way to pick up onomatopoeia, and the one I saw had cute bus guides, so it's something all ages can enjoy  If you look at the profile of the guy who uploaded it, there's a sixth episode.
