Begginer Reading

Postby micronix » January 21st, 2008 7:31 pm

Hello I've been searching for something to read to practice my Japanese but almost everything I look at has a large number of Kangi. I am currently in the process of learning Kanji, the first 80 for first grade. I guess I would need some reading material for children of this age. Does anyone know where to find that? or at least something which doesn't contain too many Kanji?

こんいちわ! I stumbled across this website only recently, and I'm finding it helpful:
http://www.nks.kent.sch.uk/departments/languages/japanese/index.html

If you scroll to the bottom, there's a section called "Japanese Reading Practice". It has children's stories written out in Japanese, 1 page at a time. That page is broken down sentence by sentence, with the Japanese (mostly kana), and English translation underneath.

If you're looking to buy children's\beginner's reading books, you could try here:

or here:

Happy reading :D
