Dartmouth College Recorder

Postby jmignot » February 4th, 2007 2:40 pm

Has anybody tried the Dartmouth College Recorder (free download at:
http://schiller.dartmouth.edu/dl-recorder/index.php)?

It's is a simulation of the traditional language lab cassette recorder, and it is available for different platforms. Still in development but already fully functional.

I thought it would be nice if one could use it to practice the JPod dialogs. This of course would require special versions of the audio files with gaps between phrases, or maybe even better split into parts with one speaker left out in each one so that a user could take part in the dialog and record his speech for playing back later.

The sentence-by-sentence feature in the learning center provides only part of this at present. Including a recorder function in there would also be great but perhaps too much work to implement.

Any ideas?
