useful sites for JLPT preparation

Postby lglben » May 6th, 2006 3:35 am

Thought it might be useful to start a thread in which people can suggest sites they have found useful for JLPT preparation.

My favourites in no particular order are :
http://www.jlpt-kanji.com - database of kanji for all levels
http://www.guidetojapanese.org/ - for grammar from the basics up to advanced
http://www.language-global.com/japanese-main.php - tests for kanji and grammar at all levels

Those are the three I use most. Anyone have any other good ones?

Hi :D
I found this site http://www.mlcjapanese.co.jp/ is useful. Lots of good stuff there at free material download and it's free. Have fun with Japanese study every. :o

I was going to say this one too. It's really good! All of the sites on this thread are already in my favourites :D

http://www.spurrymoses.com/jlpt/4/ - I also like this site but it basically has the same stuff as those other ones.

Hi everyone :P
www.kanjisite.com/html/start/jlpt/4/steps/index.html
it's very similar to the other sites - let's you test the kanji for level 4, with examples for each kanji.
I had trouble at the very beginning recognizing a kanji in a different font than the one I used to study , but training on different websites (and new glasses... 8)) resolved that quickly.
Saluti a tutti :P

Here is one for you all
http://japaneselearningtools.com/index.html
for practicing vocabulary in Excel 2003. Really excellent and uses the Leitner box system to help you focus on words you don't know.

Also
http://jlpt.renshuu.org/
for vocabulary. This can be setup for daily tests with email reminders.

I found a very good JLPT test site

Postby mariyo » November 9th, 2006 6:53 am

Hi mina-san,

I discovered the following JLPT Test site:

http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~ik2r-myr/kanji/kanji2pa.htm

The nice thing about is that you can test meanings, kun-yomi and on-yomi separately. This means that it can fit into everybody's study approach.

In case this was already posted before, don't shoot me :D

http://info.uni-duisburg.de/semester1/ :!: This site is in german

An introductory course, which brings students in 14 lessons to about level JLPT4 and further 16 lessons to -I think- JLPT3. Nice as a complement. Downloads in pdf, the kanji and furigana is well readable.

i thought this might be worth mentioning, it is a $16 program but I was just trying the demo version with 55 or so characters and thought it was very good

http://www.declan-software.com/japanese/

i think this would be more useful to me than some books of the same price. but the more resources the better right!

Another place for study towards JLPT

Postby Tocharaeh » January 9th, 2007 12:29 am

www.genkijacs.com

It's a language school (small) in Fukuoka City, KyuuShuu. Extremely cheap, and they have a lot to offer.. I actually just returned form there not long ago. Their are sanctioned and work closely with the Japanese Ministy, and form wat I gather, get a lot of peple form the JET program.

If you'd like to improve upon your skills in Nihongo, going to Japan would certainly do it.

Btw- The cites y'all listed above are awesome, I always enjoy getting new sources for resources :D

Ja ne!

Another site that is good for online tests. Sucks that you can't post anything unless you use IE. :(

This works great in the PC version of Excel 2003. Will not work with the Mac version of Excel. Now I have an excuse to get out Virtual PC!!!
