Thank you so much for your comment๐Ÿ˜„

We usually call the brand called Milo "cocoa" because it says "cocoa" on the package, but other than that, if it's a hot chocolate, then we call it "hottochokore-to"๐Ÿ‘

Please let us know if you have any questions :)

My mum and I are learning Japanese from a variety of sources. On one such source, we were taught that hot chocolate was "hottochokore-to". I get that the person in the video was saying "cocoa", but I found the use of the words "hot chocolate" instead of "cocoa" to be a little misleading.

You left out the furigana for "snowflake".

Thank you for pointing it out!

The kanji, ๆ™ถ has the meaning of "sparkling." If we had three suns, it would be soooo bright. So it makes sense that the kanji ๆ™ถ means "sparkling."

The lesson notes are missing the word for "snowflake." I was struggling to find the exact yomi for ็ตๆ™ถ. Breen's dictionary doesn't have ้›ชใฎ็ตๆ™ถ for some reason. Fortunately, I found ็ตๆ™ถ in Denshi Jisho: ใ‘ใฃใ—ใ‚‡ใ†, where it's defined as "crystal, crystallization." This compound breaks down as "fasten + crystal," so a snowflake is crystals fastened together! Strange that 3 suns (ๆ—ฅ) would lead to snowflake crystallization!
