Thank you so much for your comment๐Ÿ˜„

Yes, we have a word for beach which is ใฏใพ (hama), but we don't use that word anymore๐Ÿ˜…

Please let us know if you have any questions :)

Arian I-san, I agree with what you're saying. Japan is an island country, so it makes sense that there should be a hiragana word for "beach", instead of it being in katakana as if they'd never heard of or sen beaches before European settlers came.

่ณชๅ•ใ‚ใ‚ŠใŒใจใ†ใ”ใ–ใ„ใพใ™!

ใ€Œ็Ÿญใƒ‘ใƒณใ€is "shorts." ใƒ‘ใƒณ there is the abbreviation of ใƒ‘ใƒณใƒ„. ๅŠใ‚บใƒœใƒณ also works, too. We usually call girls' shorts ใ‚ทใƒงใƒผใƒˆใƒ‘ใƒณใƒ„ or ใ‚ทใƒงใƒผใƒ‘ใƒณ (more commonly used).

Please let us know if you have a further question :)

็Ÿญใƒ‘ใƒณ is actually short bread. Shouldn't shorts be ใ‚ทใƒงใƒผใƒˆใƒ‘ใƒณใƒ„ใ€€or ๅŠใ‚บใƒœใƒณ?

I hear ใƒ“ใƒผใƒ used a lot - let's wait and see what a native sensei has to say

gillianใ•ใ‚“,

Thank you very much for pointing that out! It should now be fixed.

Shouldn't "biichi" (beach) be "hamabe" or "umibe"? Or are these more formal words? I've usually seen these used when referring to "beach".
