Tiffany san,

Konnichiwa.

ใ‚€ใ‹ใ— ใ‚€ใ‹ใ—means โ€˜Once upon a timeโ€™.

ใ‚ใ‚‹ใจใ“ใ‚ใซ means โ€˜in some placesโ€™.

I've been trying to practice reading using fairy tales and I just wanted to check two basic phrases.

Is ใ‚€ใ‹ใ— ใ‚€ใ‹ใ— roughly equivalent to the English 'Once upon a time'?

And is ใ‚ใ‚‹ใจใ“ใ‚ใซ roughly equivalent to to English 'In a land far, far away'?

Thanks

Sabby Brann-san,

The part of "nin" comes from "ไบบ" which means "person." So, only in this respect, these words are related.

wow it's pretty weird that "mermaid" (ningyo) and "doll "(ningyou) are so close words in japanese!

is it just a coincidence or are those words linked in Japan?

Sabby Brann-san and Nadia-san,

Can you see the other video vocab lessons? This is the problem only with this video?

I added a link to the video on our Youtube channel, so that you can see it on the site. :dogeza:
