Now we are going to have a trick for memorizing this kanji in just a minute but let’s first look at the reading. |
Remember, there are two readings in Japanese kanji? One is the 音読み (on'yomi) , the On reading and the other one is the 訓読み (kun'yomi) , the Kun reading. The On (On) readings come from Chinese and the Kun readings come from Japanese. |
Now, the On (On) reading for this kanji is トウ (tō) Now, let's look at the Kun reading, the Kun (Kun) reading for this kanji is じゅう (jū) . |
