INTRODUCTION
Gabriella: In each lesson of this 25 part series, you'll master a common question for Japanese learners, and then learn how to answer it like a native speaker. You'll learn how these key phrases work by breaking them down into each component. Then through repetition and new vocabulary, you'll expand your understanding of the question, its answers, and any variations.

Lesson focus

Gabriella: In this lesson, you'll learn how to respond to the common question What's your name? In Japanese this is

Gabriella: meaning something like “is.” This is the subject-marking particle.

(desu)

こんにちは、キアラさん

Thank you for your comment!

That's an interesting way to write your name in Japanese😄

Acutually, some people from foreign countries choose kanji for their names especially when they acquire permanent residence status.

To be honest, 裸 reminds some Japanese of sexual meaning a bit, so how about "羅" instead?

羅 means "thin silk" and it is often used for phonetic equivalent such as foreign words since there are few kanji read as "ra" in Japanese.

Hope this helps you!
