Do you know how to talk about ongoing actions in Japanese? |
Welcome to Three Step Japanese Practice by JapanesePod101.com. In this lesson, you will practice how to talk about ongoing actions. |
Let’s look at the main dialogue. |
Two people are having a conversation. |
ただいま。 (Tadaima.) |
I'm home. |
おかえり。 石川さん、 むすめのりんです。 いつもは 大学のりょうに すんでいます。 でも、 今は はる休みでいえに います。 (Okaeri. Ishikawa-san, musume no Rin desu. Itsumo wa daigaku no ryō ni sunde imasu. Demo, ima wa haruyasumi de ie ni imasu.) |
Welcome home. Mrs. Ishikawa, this is my daughter Rin. She usually lives in her university dormitory. But now she is at home for spring break. |
We've learned that when talking about someone's location or state, like where someone lives or exists, we use に, and when talking about an action happening at a place, we use で. |
Let’s practice with this grammar more in this lesson. |
