I agree Language isn't commercial but this is a business. You can't really expect all the people needed to keep this site running to dedicate their lives and times for free.

Thanks jpod for the 50% off coupon.

Mina-san, thanks for the feedback! :dogeza:

For those of you who haven't visited https://www.chineseclass101.com, you should definitely check it out. There are quite a few people from the Chinese Language Learning community there, and a few hosts you are sure to recognize.

To touch on Chinese site, I think there are several unique propositions:

1. A Male Chinese Host (Victor)- it is extremely benefical for male learners of Chinese to learn to learn from a male host also. Most of the combinations are a native foreign language host who is female and a native speaking English male host is male. We're a bit guilty too, but we try to provide as often as possible here at JapanesePod101.com: Yoshi, Yuichi, Yuki, Kaze, etc. We also, of course, have the reverse pairing.

2. Chinese taught straight from Beijing - this is the recommended Chinese to study by the government

3. Each lesson builds on the previous one, progressive learning.

4. Hanzi closeup, much like Kanji Closeup

5. And above all, some soon-to-come surprises that will really wow!

Thanks for the interesting idea on the pass. Currently we offer 50% OFF any additional language, but we'll definitely consider this. :dogeza:

I second the notion that multi-language pass would be superb.

I did go ahead and sign up for the basic account on chinesepod101.com because I believe it has potential for a lot of growth. But my main focus is on other languages. It would be nice to continue my study within this company without breaking the bank.

I have to agree with Kimi. I currently subscribe to a different Chinese podcast that is well established. It has a huge, entertaining lesson archive and a very engaging, active user community. Breaking into this market may be a little tough.

Is there currently offered a multi-language pass for subscribing to multiple podcasts under your parent company?

After a couple of redirections I got the message 'OOPS you have just missed out on the offer, but...' That was quick! And as I have signed up for 12 months, are you offering me anything? Confusing.

So how do you get the $5 for life of premium membership?

I did the trial offer for 1 week, and a 1 month extension for basic.........but I don't see any mechanism for redeeming the Premium $5/life????
